The course Poverty and Hope in Theological Perspective will allow
students to work with the terms poverty and hope as theological
concepts. Using important texts from the Christian tradition, we will
explore ways to overcome poverty through the fostering of justice and
solidarity. In a significant way, the course will draw on the ministry
of Pope Francis. We will also study the view of poverty and its
overcoming from the perspective of other disciplines and spiritual
movements with which Christianity is in conversation.
